For an item-by-item description of the cookies, browser storage items, and third-party tracking technologies we actually use (including their names, purposes, retention periods, and how to disable them), please see Section 13 and the Eatsy Cookie and Tracking Technologies Policy.
To keep the reservation service secure and to prevent malicious or bulk false bookings, when you submit a reservation, a waitlist entry, or a takeaway order, we record the network address (IP) and the browser and device information at the moment of submission. These data are converted into an irreversible code before being stored, and restaurants cannot see the original content; they are used only to prevent abuse and to cooperate with judicial or police authorities as required by law, and are deleted after 180 days of retention.

If you voluntarily provide health-related information in a reservation note (for example, allergies or dietary restrictions), we process it only to the extent necessary to pass it on to the merchant you have booked with, and we do not use it for personalized recommendations or any other purpose.
三、Purposes of Collecting Personal Data
In accordance with Articles 8 and 19(1) of the Personal Data Protection Act, Eatsy collects, processes, and uses your personal data within the scope of a contractual or quasi-contractual relationship with you, your consent, or other circumstances permitted by law.

However, with respect to reservation performance and consumption preferences, we additionally carry out processing directed at individual users, which may affect the conditions applicable to your subsequent reservations or the services we provide to you. Opting out only affects marketing messages. Service notifications necessary to perform our contract, such as reservation confirmations, order status updates, and refund notices, are not covered by an opt-out and will continue to be sent.
Processing completed before you withdraw your consent remains valid.

四、How Personal Data Is Used
Eatsy processes and uses your personal data within the scope necessary for the purposes of collection and in accordance with the purposes set out in this Policy.
Your personal data may be used:
- To complete the service flows for reservations, takeout, delivery, home delivery, and product transactions
- For order management, notifications, customer service contact, and after-sales service
- For internal statistical analysis, operational management, and service optimization
- For system security maintenance and protection against anomalous behavior
- To perform legal obligations and related legal proceedings
Apart from use for the specific purposes above, Eatsy uses your personal data outside those purposes only in the circumstances listed in the proviso to Article 20(1) of the Personal Data Protection Act.
五、Parties With Whom Personal Data Is Shared
We provide your personal data to the following parties only to the extent necessary to provide the Service:
(1) Merchants (Restaurants or Other Service Providers)
To confirm orders, contact customers, and perform the related services.
(2) Payment and Logistics Service Providers
To complete payment, refund, delivery, or other transaction performance procedures.
(3) Technology and Service Providers
Including third-party vendors for cloud services, system operations, and customer support, all of whom are bound by confidentiality obligations and appropriate data protection measures.
(4) Legal or Competent Authorities
Where required by law or judicial proceedings, or where necessary to assert, exercise, or defend legal rights.
(5) Communication and Notification Service Providers
To deliver reservation and order notifications to you or to merchants, including text message services, email services, and instant messaging accounts designated by the merchant.
In particular, so that merchants can keep track of arrival reminders in real time, we send your name and contact telephone number to the instant messaging account set up by the merchant. The server location of such messaging services is determined by their providers and cannot be specified by us; see Section 6.
(6) System Monitoring and Error Diagnosis Service Providers
To detect and fix system errors, we use a third-party error monitoring service. In addition to recording error messages, this service may also record sessions in the merchant management console; where an error occurs on a screen displaying reservation data, the recording may include customer names and contact telephone numbers. These records are used only by engineering staff to diagnose problems and are subject to access controls.
(7) Advertising and Performance Measurement Platforms
Used to measure advertising performance when you browse Eatsy's official website. Some events are sent directly from our servers, and any contact information fields sent are hashed. See Section 13 and the Eatsy Cookie and Tracking Technologies Policy.
This processing does not apply to customer data collected in the reservation flow.
(8) Other Users
Content and display names you choose to publish will be visible to other users of the Service and to the general public, and may be shared by others.
(9) Map Service Providers
Where a page embeds a map, the map service provider may obtain your IP address and its own cookies, which it processes under its own privacy policy.
Eatsy does not sell your personal data. We do not provide your personal data to third parties other than the recipients listed in this Section. The advertising platforms in item (7) may use the hashed data they receive in accordance with their own privacy policies.
六、International Transfers of Personal Data
Under Article 8 of the Personal Data Protection Act, we are required to inform you of the regions in which your personal data is used. This Section explains where your personal data is actually stored and processed.
Your personal data will be transferred to and processed outside the Republic of China (Taiwan).
(一) Primary Storage and Processing Regions
The following reflects our review as of the last updated date of this Policy:
Japan (Tokyo)
- Primary database for reservations, customers, and transactions
- Storage of uploaded files
- Sending of service notification emails
- Application computing and scheduled jobs
The name, telephone number, email address, and reservation records you provide when using the reservation service are primarily stored here.

- Advertising performance measurement (see Section 5(7))
Republic of China (Taiwan)
- Text message delivery services
- Credit card acquiring services
Region cannot be specified
- Instant messaging notification services designated by merchants (see Section 5(5)). These services do not offer a choice of region; the location of processing is determined by the service provider.
Experimental or newly launched services
- For the experimental, beta, or newly launched services referred to in Section 1, where the primary storage and processing region differs from those listed above, it will be separately disclosed on that service's page.
(二) Protection Measures We Take
- All transmissions use encrypted connections (HTTPS / TLS)
- We sign contracts with service providers setting out confidentiality obligations and data protection requirements
- We transfer data only to the minimum extent necessary to provide the Service
- We periodically review the security measures of service providers
(三) Service Providers Not Listed
The regions listed in this Section are the primary storage and processing locations. If you would like to know the region of a particular service provider, or need a complete list of recipients, please email info@eatsy.tech and we will provide it within a reasonable period.
(四) Changes of Region
Service providers may change the region in which data is located as a result of infrastructure adjustments. When this happens, we will update this Section and the last updated date shown on this page.
七、Use of Performance Records and Consumption Preferences, Arrival Prediction, and Automated Processing
This Section explains how we use your booking performance records and consumption preference records, and the effects such use may have on you.
(一) The Records We Retain and Use
To help merchants reduce losses from no-shows and to keep the allocation of reservation capacity fair, we retain and use your booking performance records on the Service, including:
- When a reservation was created, modified, and cancelled
- Whether you arrived at the agreed time
- Whether you failed to arrive without cancelling within a reasonable time
- Payment and refund of deposits
- Whether you confirmed after being promoted from a waitlist, and whether your queue number was skipped
These records are compiled using the contact telephone number (including country code) you provided as the identifier, and include your records at all merchants that use the Service.
(二) Arrival Prediction
Based on these records, we predict the likelihood that you will arrive as agreed and provide the prediction result to the merchant you have booked with. To make the prediction accurate, your performance records at any merchant are also included in your predictions at other merchants.
However, for reservations created on your behalf by a merchant in its management console (for example, where you book by phone and the merchant registers the booking for you), the performance records are used only by that merchant and are not included in your predictions at other merchants.
- Merchants can see a prediction result generated from your overall booking performance on the Service, which may reflect your booking performance at other merchants; however, merchants cannot see which merchants you have booked with or visited, the details of those reservations, or the names of other merchants.
- Prediction results are not made public, and are not provided to any third party other than the merchant with whom you have made the reservation.
- Predictions are statistical estimates, and we do not guarantee their accuracy; the prediction method is determined by us and may be adjusted to improve accuracy.
- The merchant you book with may choose whether to use the prediction result to determine the conditions that apply when you make a reservation, such as whether a deposit, a credit card, or advance confirmation is required, or whether bookable time slots are limited. Whether to use the prediction result and which conditions apply are decided by the merchant, and will be disclosed before you submit your reservation.
(三) Automatic Flagging of No-Shows and Reservation Rejection (Automated Decision-Making)
Merchants may decide for themselves whether to enable the following features and set their own thresholds:
1. Automatic flagging: When the number of times you did not arrive at the same merchant reaches the number set by that merchant, the system automatically adds a flag to you.
2. Automatic rejection: If that merchant also enables "reject reservations from flagged customers", your subsequent reservations with that merchant will be automatically rejected by the system.
Please note:
- Flags and rejections apply only within that merchant and do not affect your reservations with other merchants.
- Whether to enable these features and the thresholds are decided by the merchant; Eatsy only provides the features.
- Once a flag is removed manually by staff, a new no-show must occur before you are flagged again.
- The foregoing determination process involves no case-by-case review by personnel and is automated processing.
(四) Human Review and Appeals
If you believe the foregoing records, arrival prediction, flagging, or reservation rejection is erroneous — for example, being recorded as a no-show due to an operational error on the merchant's side, or your telephone number being misused by another person — you may request human review by any of the following means:
- Contact the merchant directly and ask it to remove the flag in its management console
- Email info@eatsy.tech with an explanation
For those who write in, we will have personnel review your individual case and reply within the time limits set out in Section 11. During the review, we will suspend applying the disputed record or prediction to you; however, where continued use is necessary to prevent abuse, we may continue to use it after noting the dispute. Where the review confirms that a record is erroneous, we will correct that record.
(五) Conditions Set by the Merchant Itself and Unrelated to Your Personal Records
Some reservation conditions are set uniformly by a merchant and apply to all of its customers (for example, a deposit is always required for certain time slots, or credit card details are always required), and are unrelated to your personal performance records. Such conditions are decided by the merchant and will be disclosed in the flow before you submit your reservation; you may choose whether to accept them.
(六) Consumption Preference Records
Consumption preference records (for example, seating preferences and ordered items) arising from reservations you submit yourself on the Eatsy booking page may be retained and used by us for the following purposes, and are not deleted by reason of an individual merchant terminating its collaboration with us:
1. Providing them to the merchant you book with, for reference in serving you;
2. Recommending restaurants, time slots, or services to you within the Service based on your reservation history and preferences;
3. Improving the Service.
When making recommendations under item 2, we do not provide your reservation history or preferences at other merchants, or the names of merchants you have booked with, to the recommended merchant. You may email info@eatsy.tech at any time to ask us to stop using your data for personalized recommendations; this does not affect your use of the reservation service. Recommendations actively sent to you by text message, email, or similar means require your consent under Section 3, item (4).
Health and allergy information you provide is not used for personalized recommendations.
Consumption preference records arising from reservations created by a merchant on your behalf in its management console are for that merchant's use only, and are handled under the rules in Section 9 for data processed on a merchant's behalf.
(七) Basis for Processing
The processing in this Section is necessary to perform the contract between you and Eatsy under Articles 7.3 and 7.8 of the Eatsy Terms of Use. You may ask us to stop personalized recommendations under item (六).
八、Merchants' Responsibility for Data Use
Merchants may use customer data obtained through the platform only to the extent necessary to provide their services and customer service, and must comply with applicable personal data protection laws.
Merchants must not:
- Use the data for purposes unrelated to the transaction or service
- Analyze, recombine, or reuse the data without authorization
- Provide the data to unauthorized third parties
- Use customer data to build classification or labeling mechanisms that are not necessary for the service.
Merchants must take reasonable measures to keep customer data secure and to prevent misuse or leaks.
九、Data Retention Period
Eatsy retains your personal data only for the period necessary to achieve the purposes of collection, in accordance with the following principles:
(1) Retention According to Service Purpose
While we provide reservation, takeout, delivery, home delivery, product transaction, and related services, we continue to retain the related data as necessary to perform our contract and provide the Service.
(2) Retention According to Operational and Legal Needs
After a service is completed, we may continue to retain data for a reasonable period for the following purposes:
- Customer service and dispute handling
- Accounting, reconciliation, and tax filing
- Legal compliance and requirements of competent authorities
- Platform operational analysis and service improvement (in principle, using de-identified or statistical data)
(3) Retention After Account Termination
After you terminate your account or stop using the Service, we will delete or de-identify your personal data within a reasonable period in accordance with our internal retention rules.
However, the retention period may be extended in the following circumstances:
- Where required by law or a competent authority
- Where a transaction or service has not been completed
- Where dispute handling, a complaint, or legal proceedings are in progress
- As necessary to protect the legitimate rights and interests of Eatsy or a third party
(4) Handling Upon Expiry of the Retention Period
When the retention period expires or the purpose of collection ceases to exist, we will:
- Delete your personal data; or
- Process it in a de-identified or anonymized manner so that it can no longer identify a specific individual
(5) Retention Periods for Each Category of Data
Principle: we retain your personal data only while the specific purpose for which it was collected continues, and review it regularly under our internal retention rules; once the purpose ceases or the retention period expires, we delete or de-identify it.
While your service relationship with us continues, we retain the data necessary to provide the Service; after you terminate your account or cancel the service, it is handled under item (3); where a merchant terminates its collaboration, it is handled under Article 3.13 of the Eatsy Merchant Terms of Use. If you have not created an account, your service relationship is deemed to have ended once you have not used the Service for a considerable period.
The following items explain how this principle applies and its exceptions:
Reservation, order, and transaction records — retained while the service relationship continues, and handled under item (3) after it ends. However, books, vouchers, and uniform invoice records that must be retained under the Business Entity Accounting Act, the Tax Collection Act, and similar laws are retained for the statutory period (generally 5 years) and are not deleted when the relationship ends.
Payment data (payment identifiers other than the card token, and account information needed for refunds) — same as the preceding item. We never collect or hold the full card number, expiry date, or card security code.
Credit card tokens — without waiting for the relationship to end, handled under the release rules in Article 8.6 of the Eatsy Terms of Use; released and removed from our systems once payment is settled or any dispute is resolved.
Customer service, complaint, and dispute handling records — retained while the service relationship continues and handled under item (3) after it ends. However, where a dispute, complaint, or legal proceeding has not concluded, retained until 2 years after it concludes.
Reservation reminder data processed on a merchant's behalf (customer name, telephone number, and reservation details provided by the merchant) — this data is processed by us on behalf of the merchant and, under Article 3.13 of the Eatsy Merchant Terms of Use, is deleted within 30 days after the entrustment relationship between that merchant and us ends. However, booking performance records and arrival predictions, and consumption preference records, are governed by their respective items below.
Inquiry, registration, and lead data (where you left contact details but have not become a user) — as there is no "service relationship" to continue in this case, retained for 2 years from your last contact with us. You may email info@eatsy.tech at any time to request earlier deletion.
Booking performance records and arrival predictions — as an exception to the principle above, retained for the period necessary to provide arrival predictions, and deleted or de-identified upon expiry; not deleted early by reason of an individual merchant terminating its collaboration with us.
Consumption preference records — limited to those arising from reservations you submit yourself on the Eatsy booking page; retained for the period necessary for the purposes set out in Section 7(六), and deleted or de-identified upon expiry; not deleted by reason of an individual merchant terminating its collaboration with us. Those arising from reservations created by a merchant on your behalf are handled under the item above for data processed on a merchant's behalf.
Account and public content data — retained while your account exists. Once you delete content you have published, it is no longer publicly displayed; after you delete your account or ask us by email to delete it, the data is handled under item (3).
Server logs, security logs, and anomaly detection data — these records are not tied to any particular service relationship and are retained for 90 days from creation, not extended while the relationship continues. However, submission records kept to prevent abuse are retained for the period set out in the following paragraph.
Submission records kept to prevent abuse (hashed network address and browser and device information) — created when you submit a reservation, a waitlist entry, or a takeaway order; these records are not tied to any particular service relationship and are retained for 180 days from creation, not extended while the relationship continues.
Cookies, browser local storage, and tracking identifiers — for the periods stated for each item; see the Eatsy Cookie and Tracking Technologies Policy.
Records of marketing consent and opt-out — to evidence your choice, retained for 2 years after you opt out or the relationship ends.
The above periods are extended to the necessary extent and duration where the law prescribes a longer retention obligation, or where a transaction, dispute, complaint, or legal proceeding has not been completed.
十、Data Security
Eatsy takes reasonable technical and managerial measures consistent with industry standards to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction, including but not limited to:
(1) Technical Security Measures

- Report to the competent authority as required by law and cooperate with its subsequent requirements
The foregoing notice will not be delayed because the investigation is not yet complete; we will keep you informed of further progress.
If the incident involves customer data we process on a merchant's behalf, we will also notify that merchant within 72 hours after the facts are established, under Article 3.12 of the Eatsy Merchant Terms of Use.
(5) Risk Statement
Although we have taken reasonable security measures, network transmission and information systems still carry some risk. To the extent permitted by law, Eatsy is not liable for data leaks or damage caused by force majeure, third-party attacks, or other causes not attributable to Eatsy.

(3) Effect of Exercising Rights
You are free to choose whether to provide personal data, but if you refuse to provide it or request that processing be stopped or data deleted, all or part of the Service may not be available or your use may be terminated.
(4) Data Retained by Merchants
Some customer data is also kept by the merchant you booked with in its own systems. To exercise your rights over that data, you may need to contact the merchant separately. If you are not sure whom to contact, please email info@eatsy.tech and we will help you work it out.
十二、Protection of Minors
The Service is, in principle, intended for users with full legal capacity.
Users under 18 should use the Service with the consent and under the supervision of their legal guardian.
If Eatsy becomes aware that a minor has provided personal data without appropriate consent, we will delete the related data within a reasonable period.
十三、Cookies and Tracking Technologies
On Eatsy's official website we use cookies, browser local storage, and third-party tracking technologies for purposes including:
- Keeping the website working and remembering your language setting
- Measuring website traffic and feature usage
- Measuring advertising performance
For the name, setter, purpose, and retention period of each item, and how you can disable them, see the Eatsy Cookie and Tracking Technologies Policy. That policy forms part of this Policy; in case of any inconsistency, this Policy prevails.
Scope
The cookies and third-party tracking technologies described above are placed on Eatsy's official website (partners.eatsy.tech and related domains).
The reservation pages you use to browse restaurants, submit reservations, and pay deposits do not contain any third-party analytics or advertising tracking technologies. Those pages use only the technical storage necessary for the reservation flow to work.
For the experimental, beta, or newly launched services referred to in Section 1, the browser local storage items they use and any embedded third-party services (such as maps) are as described on that service's page.
If this changes in the future, we will first revise this Policy and the Eatsy Cookie and Tracking Technologies Policy.
十四、Amendments to the Policy
Eatsy may amend this Privacy Policy at any time in response to business needs, changes in law, or service adjustments.
(1) Method of Notification
If there is a material change, we will notify you by one of the following means:
- Platform announcement
- Email notification
- Other appropriate means
(2) Effect of Amendments
An amended Policy applies from the effective date stated in the announcement or notice.
If you continue to use the Service after the amendment takes effect, you are deemed to have read, understood, and agreed to the amended Policy.
